The new year is upon us and I just talked to my boys about taking initiative around the house. I know they don’t 100% understand what I’m talking about (they’re 4 and 2 years old), but if I’m consistent with the conversation and continue being an example... hopefully something sticks!
I don’t plan on enabling my kids to the point where they have no idea what to do for themselves. (They won’t be teenagers who don’t know how to cook, clean and do laundry!) They may not WANT to do it, but they’ll know HOW to do it!
School shouldn’t be their only responsibility. Especially since we’ve all agreed that school doesn’t teach EVERYTHING that life is going to throw at our children. It’s our responsibility to lay the foundation at home! Domestics, creativity, culture, finance, etc...
